President at ICLUBcentral Inc.
Writing and Editing | Hartford, Connecticut Area, US
For 20 years, I have taught individuals and investment clubs to make smarter decisions about investing in the stock market, through books, software, websites, and educational presentations.
I am President of ICLUBcentral Inc, a for-profit subsidiary of BetterInvesting. ICLUBcentral makes popular investment club accounting software and tools, as well as fundamental analysis software for individual investors. I'm the founder of several ICLUBcentral tools, including StockCentral.com, MyStockProspector.com, and MyStockPortfolio.com.
I have written six financial books, including The Investor's Web Guide, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Online Investing, The Armchair Millionaire, and Investment Clubs for Dummies, as well as articles for magazines such as Individual Investor, PC World, and ComputerLife. I was a Consulting Editor and columnist for Mutual Funds Magazine, and my work has appeared on many websites, including Yahoo! Finance, E*TRADE, and ShareBuilder.
I frequently speak on such topics as online investing, getting started in the stock market, and running a successful investment club, and have appeared at events from Honolulu to Berlin, for the National Education Association, National Investor Relations Institute, Money Show, Charles Schwab, CNBC, Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Morningstar, BetterInvesting, AAII, and Oregon Public Broadcasting. My skill in explaining often-complex concepts with humor, energy, and clarity helps to turn beginning investors into smarter investors.
I've been a guest on many radio and television programs, including CNNfn’s Digital Jam, Yahoo! FinanceVision, and the Wall Street Journal Report. I'm Editor-in-Chief of ICLUBcentral's investing newsletters, the market-beating Investor Advisory Service and the SmallCap Informer.
A voracious reader, I'm also a member of and volunteer for several literary organizations, including the Jane Austen Society of North America and the Anthony Trollope Society.
